We create opportunities that require determination, dedication and the belief that a lot can come from very little – just like wealth creation, a craft that we as a company are more familiar with.
As a diversified financial services player with a widespread footprint in 14 African countries, Sanlam takes pride in creating an exciting opportunity for international athletes to compete in a global sporting event. We are the proud sponsor of the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon, and due to the COVID-19 pandemic we had to do things differently in October 2020.
The event kicked off at 06:00 local time, with thousands of runners ‘running Cape Town’ along their favourite routes. Powered by an innovative virtual app, runners from as far as Australia, New Zealand and East Asia had the chance to join this unique race. “SA’s top runners were hungry for a race after being grounded for most of the year, and it was evident in the enthusiasm with which they embraced this unique format,” said Sanlam Cape Town Marathon Race Director, Renee Jordaan.
