With a Mobicred account, you’re not required to pay off your balance within a set time frame.

As long as As long as you’re making your required minimum payment, you can decide how long you need to settle your balance. You can also settle your balance early via additional EFT payments (good for you!).

Frequently asked questions

The password reset is done via the Mobicred website on the login details page. You will receive a temporary password via email, you will need to click on the “Submit” tab when doing a password change.

All additional payments take 24 to 48 hours to reflect on your account.

You can apply by clicking on the “Apply Now” link on this page, or download the Mobicred app and tap “Open an account”.

While everyone’s application is unique based on their credit history, affordability criteria and other factors; here’s the basics you need to have to apply:

  • Have a valid South African ID number
  • Have an existing valid bank account, a valid email address and a RICA’d mobile number
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • You may need to submit 3 months’ most recent bank statements or payslips

Yes, approval of your application is subject to Mobicred’s credit risk and affordability criteria, and in accordance with the National Credit Act’s “Responsible Lending” principles. If, for whatever reason, your application is declined, Mobicred will inform you as to the main reasons for it being declined.

  1. Shop at your chosen online store and add products to your cart.
  2. During the checkout process, choose Mobicred as your payment option. To find Mobicred, you may need to first select one of their partner payment gateways like PayU, PayFast, PayGate, Adumo Online, or Peach Payments.
  3. Sign in with your Mobicred username and password. This will trigger an OTP to your registered mobile device.
  4. Enter the OTP to complete the payment.
  5. You’ll get your order directly from the retailer, and pay your Mobicred instalments when due.

The interest rate charged per annum will never exceed the maximum interest rate permissible by the National Credit Act.

The interest rate on your account is an annual variable rate linked to the repo rate and will change in accordance with changes made by the South African Reserve Bank.

This means that when the REPO rate decreases or increases, the interest rate on your account will also decrease or increase by the same amount.
