When you decide to take out a Sanlam Personal Loan, our consultants will determine your interest rate and initiation fee according to your personal risk profile. Your loan repayment term can range from 24 to 72 months, and the maximum interest rate you can be charged is 28% per annum (compounded monthly).
Let’s look at an illustrative example of a loan at an interest rate of 28% per annum: The loan amount is R50 000.00 plus a once-off initiation fee of R1 197 and a monthly admin fee of R68.40, over 72 months. For your convenience, your repayments will be deducted by debit order from the bank account into which your salary is paid every month.
Every Sanlam Loan includes our Personal Protection Plan, which settles your outstanding loan balance in the event of your death, permanent disability or certain dread diseases. It also provides limited cover in the event of temporary disability and should you be retrenched, a once-off payment equal to six instalments will be paid out to you. Of course, you're free to substitute the plan with a policy of your choice, providing the cover offered is equivalent.
