Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools Cup
Do you suspect that a future Bafana Bafana star is sitting in one of your classrooms right now, simply hoping for an opportunity to shine? Or can your school benefit from infrastructure improvements, new equipment or books? Then the Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools Cup is just the thing for you!
The Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools Cup is an initiative co-funded by Sanlam, the Ubuntu-Botho Community Development Trust and the Motsepe Family Foundation. It is the biggest schools soccer sponsorship with the largest prize money in the history of South African schools soccer.
Any South African high school, whether in a rural or urban area, can take part in the tournament.
In order to make a tangible difference to the students of the winning school and their immediate communities, the Sanlam Kay Motsepe Schools Cup’s prizes for provincial and national winners are not paid out in cash but instead include items that promote a culture of effective learning and teaching such as:
- Books
- Laboratory equipment
- Equipment for and development of multimedia centres
- Improvement of school infrastructure such as office buildings, library, class rooms, ablution facilities, sporting facilities or school hall
- School bus to be branded with the sponsor's logo
- Sporting attire for various codes
- Office equipment like scanners, desktops, photocopiers or printers; - security infrastructure like fencing, security gates or alarms
In addition, a maximum of R15 000 may be set aside for a celebration event (tender processes to be followed).
