Director and Chair – BCom
Richard joined Simeka in 2011 and is currently the managing director of Simeka Consultants and Actuaries and an exco member of Sanlam Corporate. Richard is a graduate of the University of Port Elizabeth with a BCom degree and also holds a Diploma in Investment Management. He has over 20 years of experience within the employee benefits industry, has served on various industry bodies and has also consulted extensively to labour on retirement fund-related matters.

Managing Director – MBA
Mbali joined Simeka Health in October 2021 and is currently the managing director. Mbali holds numerous academic achievements, including, but not limited to, a National Certificate in Commerce, a Marketing Diploma from the Institute of Bankers, and an MBA from Business School Netherlands. She has also completed a Management Advancement Programme through Wits Business School and a General Management Programme through Harvard Business School. She has over 33 years of experience in financial services, including banking, financial advice, retirement fund administration, medical scheme administration, and health insurance administration.
Non-Executive Director
Mbuso joined Sanlam Life in 2004 and is currently the Head of Corporate Governance and Company Secretary. Mbuso is a graduate of the Rhodes University with BProc and LL.B degrees. Mbuso has over 29 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Head of Finance: Health – Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting
Shameema Harnekar joined Sanlam Corporate in April 2018 as Reporting Specialist. In March 2020, she became Head of Finance for Health within Sanlam Corporate. Shameema holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from UCT and is a qualified chartered accountant, CA(SA). She has over 9 years’ experience in the financial services industry.
