On 21 February Finance Minister, Malusi Gigaba, delivered the 2018 National Budget Speech. He announced an increase in the VAT rate from 14% to 15% and below inflation increases in personal income tax rebates and the personal income tax brackets, with the top four brackets remaining the same.
