South Africa’s Transformation Told through Art

In celebration of Sanlam’s 100th year, the Sanlam Art Collection presents Centennial: A century of South African Art from the Sanlam Art Collection 1918 – 2018.

At Sanlam, we value cultural wealth as much as financial wealth. What began as the purchase of 12 paintings by local artists in 1965 has grown to a collection of more than 2 000 works; one of the largest corporate collections in South Africa.

Art is not only a way to conserve the heritage of South Africa, but is also a means by which we can continue to tell South Africa’s stories, today and for generations to come.
