Dealing with the aftermath of an accidental injury or death is never easy – that’s why we do our best to take the hassle out of submitting your claim. While it might take longer to process more complex cases, we strive to settle claims as quickly as possible.

Accidental Injury Claim

You can’t control life, but you can prepare for it.

To claim for an accidental injury, you will need to provide your personal information, details of the incident, medical information, and (in the event of a crime) the case details.

We will also require the following documentation:

  • Identity document, driver’s licence or passport (if you’re a foreigner)
  • Hospital bill reflecting your ID number, and ICD-10 codes and dates for all procedures done.
  • Police report, if applicable (e.g. crime-related incident or motor vehicle accident)
  • Proof of bank account, or Curator Bonis/Administrator’s appointment from High Court (if the assured is incapacitated)
  • A short letter from the treating doctor confirming the injuries
  • Copies of X-rays or scans (if claiming for fractures)

Dealing with the death of a friend or family member is never easy, but we’ll do our best to assist you in any way we can. To claim for accidental death, you will need to provide the personal information of the deceased, details of death, details of contact person/beneficiary, and the relevant case number.

We will also require the following documentation:

  • Completed death claims form
  • Death certificate issued by Department of Home Affairs
  • Beneficiary’s identity document, driver’s licence or passport (if you’re a foreigner) and proof of bank account
  • SAPS completed claims form - Download
