This year the Sanlam Benchmark research included an exploration of the concept of financial resilience through the lens of retirement funding. Financial Resilience is the ability to withstand events that impact one's income and/or assets while being able to take advantage of opportunities for growth. Some financially stressful events, such as death, disability, divorce, health problems and retirement affect people in different ways.
Financial resilience is not just a concept; for individuals it is a way of empowering them to be in control of their lives and to help them feel more financially secure.
