CA Training Programme

Become a Wealthsmiths™ apprentice and learn the tools of the trade with the CA Training Programme. The core outcome of this programme is to develop a pool of the best CAs with skills to strengthen our leadership bench.

Our 3-year training programme is accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). Receive dedicated training in all SAICA specified competencies. This includes financial management, risk management and governance, taxation, and management decision-making. You will also be placed in our 18-month Graduate Leadership Development Programme.

Who are we looking for?

You should have obtained your Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTAs) or be eligible to write the board exam before commencement of the training programme in January 2019.

The following key criteria must be met:

No previous permanent work experience

Academic performance record average of at least 60%

Leadership in community, university or sport activities

How do I apply?

Who can apply?

If my application is successful, when do I start working?

The programme start date is 01 January 2019.

Where are the Sanlam graduate positions based?

The CA programme is run from Cape Town, with rotations to Johannesburg. Should you not be based in Cape Town, you would have to relocate. Sanlam also offers assistance with relocation.

What is the closing date for applications?

15 July 2018.

Can I apply if I am a foreign national?

Foreign Nationals from the following countries will be considered for the CA Training Programme: Botswana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Nigeria.

Are all the positions on the programme permanent?

No they are not but we do aim to retain all the graduates who have successfully completed the programme.

I am not a recent graduate, can I still apply?

The Graduate Leadership Programme is designed for graduates with no permanent work experience. For positions requiring more experience, please visit www.sanlam.co.za/careers.
