At the end of last year Sanlam launched its #NeverBeenABetterTime platform with the heart-warming story of Enzokhule. Stats SA revealed that the most common name given to both newborn boys and girls in South Africa in 2017 and 2018 was Enzokuhle, meaning To Do Good.

Our names form a central part of who we are and experts believe that they have a much greater bearing on our behaviour than we think. This tells us that people all over South Africa have not lost their hope and will to put something good out into the world.

This story, and many others like it, was covered extensively in the media, but we all missed it. Then the Springboks brought home the World Cup, and this time, none of us missed the bigger story. It shifted the mood of the nation. It lifted us out of the negativity and created the perfect opportunity to shift the spotlight on to South Africa’s good news stories.
