Because SPI is a licensed independent stockbroker and member of the JSE, you have the full spectrum of stockbroking services at your disposal. These include the execution of buy- and sell orders, trading and diversification of share options as well as market information and advice.
For trading and execution, we offer you the facility of prompt execution of orders. You can obtain market- and share price information daily, from any of our branches.
Our clients sign a mandate either as a controlled or non-controlled client of SPI. For controlled clients, we offer a comprehensive administration facility, including listing all securities under the SPI nominee company, Agulhas Nominees (Pty) Ltd, on the SPI-appointed Customary Settlement Depository Participant (CSDP).
All administration will be handled by SPI. Non-controlled clients appoint their own CSDP and the SPI service will be limited to prompt trading and execution. Brokers’ notes will be issued on each transaction. With the new STRATE system now fully operational, all settlements take place electronically and therefore no transaction can be executed before the full settlement amount is, or the shares are, available in the account.
