Sanlam Properties (SP) has recently undergone a metamorphosis and is now positioned within the Capital Management cluster of businesses.

A result of this has been a significant change in terms of its focus and a new mandate for the business has been approved.  The core of Sanlam Properties business is the provision of property related finance. SP is mandated to act as a financial partner in all facets of property related transactions, including Senior Lending, Mezzanine Finance and potentially taking Equity in transactions.

Property sectors we have a key focus on include Commercial, Retail and Industrial Properties.
Whilst we have existing residential exposure, additional exposure to the residential market is limited at this stage.

Key areas of involvement include the following:

• Financing the purchase of commercial property assets
• Discounting of the cash flows from a lease attached to a property
• The re-financing of debt attributable to commercial property assets
• The development of new properties underpinned by strong lease cash flows
• The financing of listed property loan stock companies
• The financing of non-listed property companies that have a diversified underlying portfolio.
