Transformation

Transformation is a business imperative for SIM and the broader Sanlam Group. As such, SIM has put in place a Transformation Task Team whose objective is to ensure diversity is kept alive and well within the business.


Over the past decade, SIM has made significant strides in improving black representation within SIM leadership and the rest of the business. We have ongoing initiatives to continue empowering and developing the skills of our black staff, such as laying out specific career paths and engaging in succession through a range of empowerment programmes to develop and fast track staff to become executives and senior managers.


At a Sanlam group level, CEO Johan van Zyl established a Transformation Advisory Group in 2007 and there are regular employee equity forums to ensure ongoing transformation within the group.
