Converter Plan

Converter Plan - for even more investment choices

If you own unit trusts (now known as collective investments in securities), you'll understand the helpless fear of watching a market nosedive wreak havoc with your investments. If only you could have moved your funds to a safer haven in time ...

Sanlam Collective Investments' new Converter Plan option creates a new world of flexible options to do just that - it allows you to

  • park your funds, when the need arises to protect an investment against fluctuating stock exchange conditions,
  • phase in a lump sum, when stock exchange conditions are unstable or to achieve a better average purchase price,
  • systematically repurchase, in order to receive a regular income or to supplement your income, and
  • switch between funds, to satisfy personal investment preferences and to achieve a higher expected investment return.

The Converter Plan facilities are available for use with all Sanlam Collective Investments' local funds.

To make full use of the Converter Plan's flexibility, please speak to your Sanlam financial adviser or contact us for help.

Alternatively, call our Client Care Centre at (021) 916 1800.

Mandatory disclosure
Collective investments in securities are generally medium- to long-term investments. The value of units may go down as well as up and past performance is not necessarily a guide to the future. Collective investments in securities are traded at ruling prices and can engage in borrowing and scrip lending. Collective investments in securities prices are calculated on a net asset value basis, which is the total value of all assets in the portfolio including any income accrual, and less any permissible deductions from the portfolio. A schedule of fees and charges and maximum commissions is available from the management company/scheme. Commission and incentives may be paid and if so, would be included in the overall costs. Forward pricing is used. The following charges are levied against the portfolio: Brokerage and marketable securities tax, auditor's fees, bank charges, trustee fees and RSC levies. Member of the ACI.
