As a consequence its capital market has become more developed and important supporting the development of long term savings especially in the area of new pension regulations. It has become important for SIM to have fund management capability in Nigeria and this has led to an exciting opportunity with a joint venture partnership in the form of SIM Capital Alliance Ltd.


SIM Capital Alliance Limited is a company formed under the Laws of Nigeria as a 50/50 joint venture between the Sanlam Investment Management group of companies (the Investment Cluster subsidiary of the Sanlam Life group), and the African Capital Alliance group, a leading Private Equity firm in Nigeria and West Africa.
SIM Capital Alliance is a fund manager regulated by the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission. In the main, SIMCA will provide fund management services to Nigerian institutional investors.


Investment will in the Nigerian Capital Markets and also in international markets where appropriate.
Each of the joint venture partners brings a unique set of skills and knowledge to SIM Capital Alliance, which we believe will assist and support the development of the Nigerian long term savings industry and capital market. Sanlam will provide support to SIM Capital Alliance in the form of training and middle and back office investment administration services. It will also add value in terms of product development, capital markets expertise, investment risk and compliance support. SIM Capital Alliance will provide local Nigerian knowledge, especially in the areas of regulation, business introductions and local administration support.
