Sanlam and Business Partners Entrepreneur of the Year ® Competition

The annual Entrepreneur of the Year ® Competition was initiated by Business Partners in 1989 and was initially open to only Business Partners clients. However, in 2010 the competition was opened to all small and medium-sized enterprises in South Africa with Sanlam as the main sponsor.

Who may enter the competition?

Sanlam supports entrepreneurs and the competition has five award categories with R20 000 prize money for each winner. The categories are Emerging Entrepreneurs (businesses younger than three years); Small Business Entrepreneurs (businesses with a turnover of up to R20 million) and Medium Business Entrepreneurs (businesses with a turnover of more than R20 million but less than R200 million), Innovator of the year as well as Job Creator of the year.

The prize

The overall winner of the Sanlam and Business Partners Entrepreneur of the Year ® Competition walks away with R100 000 in cash as well as the opportunity to attend an international conference or trade show and get extensive exposure in the public domain to boost sales even further.
