What were the cut-off dates for qualifying for the free shares?

The cut-off date was at midnight on 22 October 2008 (RSA time).

 

I received free shares in 1998. Did Sanlam allocate further free shares in addition to those?

Qualifying policyholders were entitled to free shares when Sanlam demutualised in 1998. The demutualisation trust has since closed, and unclaimed shares can no longer be claimed. No further free shares were issued.

 

I receive no mailing or dividends from Sanlam or Computershare. What could the reason be?

What are the procedures for selling shares held by Funds and Schemes?

The information provided on this site is mainly directed at individual shareholders holding their shares through the Sanlam nominee company and those still holding share certificates.


Different arrangements apply to shares held by Funds and Schemes. While Computershare also does the administration of these shares on the share register (via a separate nominee company), the trading of the shares is handled by Sanlam Securities at (011) 778 6000 or (011) 778 6266.
