Services

Multi-Data offers a range of processing runs, account holder verifications, and electronic tax submission services. After each processing run, we provide an electronic file for any unpaid/rejected items, which you may import into your system for further processing.

  • Processing and validation of transactions

  • Multi-Data specialises in the processing and validation of collection and payment transactions. Transaction data may be transmitted to Multi-Data via email or direct dial-up.The frequency of input for collection and payment runs during the month is limitless. This means Multi-Data clients can choose as many action dates for collections and payments as required, provided that the input data reaches us in time for processing, based on the bank sub-service being used.

    For example, on a two-day sub-service the input data must reach Multi-Data two working days before the action date.

    Inputs are validated with regard to branch codes and bank account numbers. If a transaction is rejected, the details are immediately communicated to the client via email.

    All accepted transactions are submitted electronically via a direct line before the action date.


  • Daily, weekly, ad hoc runs and unpaid/rejected items

  • Daily runs

    You can submit a file on a daily basis before 09h00 to Multi-Data. Should Multi-Data receive the input file by 08h00, the client will still have a window period of two hours to complete any corrections rejected by the edit runs. Multi-Data then submits the transactions electronically for collection/payment based on the bank sub-service being used, or on a client-specified date.

    Weekly runs

    With this service the client will submit input to Multi-Data once a week. Should Multi-Data receive the input file by 08h00, the client will still have a window period of two hours to complete any corrections as rejected by the edit runs. Multi-Data will edit the file and submit the transactions to their sponsoring bank for collection/payment two working days later or on the client-specified date.

    Ad hoc runs

    Clients usually request ad-hoc runs whenever they encounter specific problems. These special runs are expensive because it is as and when requested. Multi-Data allows the client to contract the number of runs they expect to utilise during a month and arrange a fixed tariff. Actual charges will be 'per run' during the month.

    Unpaid/rejected items

    Multi-Data will provide the client with an electronic file for any unpaid/rejected items. This file can be imported into the client's system for further processing. This file could contain unpaid/rejected items with multiple collection/payment dates and will be indicated as such on the file.

  • Account holder verification

  • Multi-Data submits transactions on your behalf to the major banks in South Africa in order to verify transactions against their own databases.

    The Account Holder Verification process will match and verify the following details:

    • Account number
    • Identity number, passport number or registration number
    • Customer's surname
    • Customer's initials (not the name associated with the account, only the initials).


  • SMS Messaging Services (SMS)

  • Multi-data offers an SMS service whereby we send SMS messages on your behalf to your clients and personnel linked to any cellular phone network in South Africa.

    This service will, among other, enable you to:

    • Market your company.
    • Inform your clients and personnel of debit order collections or payments made to their bank accounts.
    • Send newsflashes.
    • Inform clients about unsuccessful debit order collections.


  • SARS submissions via our EIRP system

  • We do and provide:

    • Electronic IRP5 submissions to SARS
    • Electronic directive submission via a direct link to SARS
    • Electronic IT3's
    • Electronic feedback to clients regarding their submissions
    • Online tax certificate service for your business
