The Sanlam Group has been involved in multi-management since 1998, largely through managing international assets on global markets. The South African multi-manager business grew out of this international experience, and by the end of 2001 had become firmly established. Sanlam Multi-Manager International (SMMI) is an investment management business dedicated to active multi-management investing. It forms part of the Investment Cluster within Sanlam Group, however operates independent from the conventional investment management activities within the Sanlam Group, both in terms of staff as well as investment decisions.
