SANLAM PERSONAL LOANS LANGUAGE POLICY AS REQUIRED BY SECTION 63 OF THE NATIONAL CREDIT ACT NUMBER 34 OF 2005

Call Centre:

Sanlam Personal Loans to ensure that call centre staffing to be skilled in all five languages namely, English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa and Sesotho. These languages are to be spoken to the extent that it includes verbal applications, quotations, contracts and general queries.

Loans documentation (excluding marketing)

The following documents are available in all languages above:

  • Pre Agreement Statement (includes terms and conditions)
  • Quotations
  • Loan Agreements
  • Credit Life Policy Summaries
  • Section 129 Enforcement Letter
  • Basic explanations of the Pre Agreement Statement in the remaining official languages and are retained at our head office for instances when a customer requires these to be sent to him in his home language prior to entering into an agreement in one of the five languages that are fully supported. These can be emailed or faxed. After being read the consumer can continue with the quotation and agreement via telephone in his choice of one of the five major languages supported.

Direct mail marketing material

 Direct mail marketing material is available in all languages proposed namely, English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa and Sesotho.
